Financial Support for IEN’s! Bursaries in BC (up to $15,000+!)
Hello!
Transitioning your license from your home country to Canada is a very costly process — as I’m sure those who have been through the process will know. British Columbia (BC) has announced some…
Great news!
BC is offering internationally educated nurses (IEN’s) financial support with their international nurse application process. It is called Internationally Educated Nurse Bursary Program.
The bursary program they have could incur HUGE (+$15,000) savings for IENs.
It appears that they are backdating reimbursement from May 2021 onwards!
Meaning that even if you already are licensed — any fees you paid post May 2021 could be reimbursed!
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BURSARY PROGRAM (all in CAD);
up to $1200 CAD for credentialling fees (think NNAS, WES)
up to $400 EACH for 2 English Language proficency tests (think IELTS, CELBAN)
FREE or $690 for BCCNM application
FREE or $3,150 for NCAS assessment
up to $1000 for travel for NCAS for BC residents
up to $10,000 for transitional education tuition fees!!
**If you are eligible for all the categories, this is over $15,000 in savings!!!!
**Of course, there are terms and conditions for this.

This website also has information on licensing, employment and living in BC.
Unfortunately, I obtained my license just before the cut off date for being eligible for reimbursement, but I’m hoping that this brings awareness and some of you IEN’s are able to apply.
Feel free to comment on your applications and reimbursements! Hoping many of you are able to take advantage of this program!
