The New NCAS… Inspire Global Assessments

Hey all!

A quick update to let you know that as of February 28, 2024 NCAS (Nursing Community Assessment Service) has had a rebrand. It is now

Inspire Global Assessments!

If you go to the NCAS website it will automatically redirect you to the Inspire Global Assessments page.

From what I can tell, they had a change in leadership and although the name has changed, Inspire Global Assessments still functions as NCAS with the SLA and CBA.

Further down the post I have a waitlist for people to join for the nursing review I’m working on to help you prepare for the NCAS/Inspire Global Assessment.

What Inspire Global Assessments Does:

As noted above, the only difference is the name change. They still do assessments (NCAS).

Information from Inspire Global Assessment website:

Computer Based Assessments, Simulation Lab Assessments, Fees and Policies, Results.

Most health care professionals applying to Inspire Global Assessments are required to take a competency assessment. As nursing education and practice differ worldwide, Inspire Global Assessments’ competency assessments are an essential tool to measure your current nursing abilities against the skills and knowledge required to practice in the Canadian health care system.

Inspire Global Assessments may assess you for one or more professions, including:

  • Health care Assistant (HCA)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN)

Inspire Global Assessments uses a combination of a Computer-Based Assessment (CBA) and a Simulation Lab Assessment (SLA) to assess how applicants demonstrate skills and competencies required for practice in their desired profession.

Inspire Global Assessments’ competency assessments are integrative, meaning that you can be assessed across multiple professions at the same time. Once you’ve completed your assessments, Inspire Global Assessments will send your results and supporting documents to the regulator, who will email you the next steps.

Candidates have one year from their referral date to complete the Inspire Global Assessments assessment. The CBA and SLA(s) must be completed within three months of each other.

We use a combination of Computer-Based Assessment (CBA) and Simulation Lab Assessment (SLA). While you can take the assessments in any order, we encourage you to take the CBA first, as it will help you prepare for the SLA(s)
